Responsible packaging
We choose packaging with intention.
Our product boxes are made with 30 percent post-consumer fiber and are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®), which sets the global benchmark for responsible paper production. They are also Processed Chlorine Free (PCF), a safer choice for the environment and aquatic ecosystems.
Beyond our boxes, we use materials that are easier on the earth. Glass bottles, recyclable packaging, kraft paper tape, plant-based compostable bags in place of plastic, and FSC-certified stickers printed with soy-based inks.

Recycling your empties
Here are a few gentle ways to keep your bottles in use and off our beaches, and out of landfills.
1. Repurpose your glass bottles
Our glass packaging is easy to clean and simple to reuse.
Rinse thoroughly, let dry, and give each bottle a new purpose: a bud vase, a travel container, or a home for tinctures and oils.
If you prefer the bottle without text, gently scrape the lettering with a blade and wipe clean.
2. Recycle through your local program
Recycling guidelines differ from city to city, and each program accepts different materials.
Check your local provider’s website to see what can be placed in curbside recycling.
A few minutes of research makes a meaningful difference.
3. Take your empties to Credo Beauty or Sephora
If your city does not accept beauty packaging, bring your empties to participating Credo Beauty or Sephora locations.
Credo partners with TerraCycle. Sephora partners with Pact Collective.
Both programs accept beauty empties from any brand, including Madre.
As a bonus, Credo will add 10 Credo Reward points for each full-size product you recycle in-store.
